Dark . . .
about
Bruce is an indie music artist who was raised in New York City.
After traveling through the country, and living in Portland Oregon for a time, he decided to move to Denver to start
making music.
Having an inclination for writing poetry, his songs have received good reviews. And his work has been characterized as a kind of indie rock, with dark poppy and gothy tones.
His most recent project is the band called "The Dark Pops". Comprised of various artists; such as Tay Hamilton & Sean Malkasian on guitar, Jack Lancaster on bass, and Joe Westerfield on drums.
It is performance art, living in the realm of emo, dark pop, and indie rock.
Bruce lives in an older part of the RiNo Art District (*recently featured in Westword article) and he is continuing his work to release his first solo album in 2023, while performing new material with The Dark Pops, all around the Denver Music Scene.

REVIEWS
"In the vein of other tortured artists like Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison,
Carl makes music that very much expresses the turmoil and torment
in his soul. He is able to perfect this balance of somber and angst with
a dream pop, alternative, and indie rock vibe that meshes these
genres together to create a unique sound all his own."

"The way this man sings isn't the exclusive reason I'd give when
trying to convince you that he is among the few that audiences
should be listening to . . . but nothing reeks of inauthenticity here
even for a second."

"Carls tone is so intensely personal that it can sometimes
feel as though we're listening to something never intended
to be made public . . . he is exposed for everything he is and
isn't, which is more than can be said for literally any of the
mainstream rock, pop, and folk, I've had the chance to
look at in the last 6 months."
